Porcelin Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic material
that are bonded to the outside of your teeth and provide a
strong, safe, and durable solution to stained, cracked or
crooked teeth. The dental veneers procedure at our practice can
usually be completed in three visits. During your first visit,
you will have a consultation with the Doctor and his staff where
they will discuss what you would like to accomplish with your
smile. Then before you go we will take impressions of your teeth
as is now and send to the lab for what is called a wax-up. We do
this so you are able to see what your smiles end result will
look like. At the second visit, the teeth are prepared by
removing a small portion of enamel to allow for the thickness of
the veneers and to ensure a strong seal. An impression is then
taken and prepared to send to the lab where the porcelain dental
veneers will be created. Your new porcelain veneers are usually
returned to our office within two to three weeks.
Dental
Crowns
Damaged and decayed teeth can be effectively restored
with tooth-colored crowns. A crown is a permanent covering that
fits over your original tooth, restoring health and strength.
Our practice uses custom shade crowns to match your natural
tooth color, which improve your smile's appearance as well as
your dental health. Crowns can be used to whiten, reshape, and
realign teeth as well as to repair damage. We can make custom
crowns for you in just two appointments!
Inlays/Onlays
Replacing large fillings on back teeth often require a
stronger and properly contoured restoration. These are called
inlays or onlays depending on their size. These restorations
need to be custom-made at an off-site dental lab and two visits
may be required. Once the dental office receives the custom
inlay or onlay, the patient returns to the dentist’s office,
where they are bonded into place. Onlays protect teeth similarly
as crowns but conserve more natural tooth structure. Onlays also
offer a better cosmetic alternative to a silver or mercury
filling.
Resin
Fillings
You have more cosmetically appealing options when having
fillings completed. Resin fillings, also referred to as
composite, white fillings or bonding. This can make a
significant improvement in the appearance of teeth in a short
period of time. Resin is what dentists use to repair small
cavities or chips in front teeth, as well as fill cavities
cosmetically in back teeth. Resin can do virtually the same
thing as porcelain veneers with respect to improving the
appearance of the teeth.
Teeth
Whitening
Have you looked in the mirror and wished for a whiter,
brighter, more youthful smile? We can help transform your
ordinary smile into the beautiful and healthy smile you deserve.
Regardless of how well you care for your teeth, it is inevitable
that, over time, some yellowing or discoloration will occur as a
result of factors such as age, nerve deterioration or coffee and
tobacco use. To combat discoloration and restore your vibrant
smile, our team at Sierra Family Dentistry offers an effective
and affordable custom home teeth whitening system. Home
bleaching is one of the most effective teeth whitening methods
currently available. Our office will provide you with custom
fitted trays and the teeth whitening gel needed to achieve a
bright smile. Simply wear your custom trays for an hour a day
and stop when your teeth have become your desired shade.
Generally, at-home teeth whitening can take ten days to two
weeks for initial results.
